Topics Covered:

  • Using a MultiDisc
  • Using a LitePanel

Equipment Used:

    Figure 1

This urban alley was used as the set for this session. We shot looking toward the sun.

We set up a 22" MultiDisc with a LiteDisc Holder secured to a LiteStand. The white side was used to reflect the sunlight back into the model's face.

    Figure 2

The 22" MultiDisc reflector was good for lighting our model's face.

    Figure 3

We used the same reflector, but this time the gold reflector fabric faced our model.

    Figure 4

We got similar results to the first shot, but the MultiDisc warmed up the light. Notice the warmer tones on our model's face.

    Figure 5

To shoot a full-body shot, we would need a larger reflector. We set up two LiteStands and secured a 39"x72" LitePanel frame. The white fabric was used for the next shot.

    Figure 6

This angle shows the white fabric on the LitePanel frame facing the model.

    Figure 7

The larger reflector gaves us good light coverage for this full-body shot.

    Figure 8

We turned the fabric over to use the soft gold side of the panel fabric.

    Figure 9

This shows how the sunlight bounces from the reflector back into the model.

    Figure 10

This shot shows the resulting warmer tone.
