Portrait with Strobe

When it comes to shooting high quality portraits, the tools you choose can make all the difference.     Here we see the Photoflex 3' OctoDome3 Kit set up as the key light in a one-light portrait. The OctoDome was configured with both the inner baffle and the front diffusion installed and the interior of the box left white.

    We then mounted the OctoDome3 to a studio strobe head and placed it on the Photoflex 2218 that is included in the kit. We also have placed a Photoflex 22" black/silver LiteDisc on a LiteDisc Holder mounted to a 2214 LiteStand as a flag to block some light from the background and kick some light onto the subject.

    Here we see the results that the OctoDome kit produces.

    Here we see the results that the OctoDome kit produces.In this set up shot, we added a 32" LiteDisc attached to a LiteDisc Holder mounted on a 2214 LiteStand. We then placed the LiteDisc to camera right as a reflective fill.

    We took another shot to see the effect of the light bouncing off the LiteDisc.

    In this image, we can compare the results the LiteDisc have on the subject. The left shot is without the LiteDisc and the right is with the Litedisc as our reflective fill.
