Topics Covered:
- Setting the main light
- Adding a reflector fill
- Adding a rim light
- Adding an overhead light
Equipment Used:
 Figure 1 |
We set up a medium LiteDome and strobe head as our main light. |
 Figure 2 |
We are off to a good start. We need to brighten up the shadow side of the sewing machine. |
 Figure 3 |
We set up a 39"x39" LitePanel frame with silver fabric as a fill reflector to the left of the set. |
 Figure 4 |
The reflector fill has really opened up the darker areas. Now we want to get more separation from the background. |
 Figure 5 |
We set up a small LiteDome to the left of the set and behind the machine. This will provide a nice rim light at the edges of the sewing machine. |
 Figure 6 |
This light has added definition to the sewing machine and has brightened up the shadows at the base of the machine. |
 Figure 7 |
To help further separate the top edges of the machine from the background, we added a HalfDome2 with a strobe head overhead on a boom. |
 Figure 8 |
The sewing machine looks great. We have good highlights, soft shadows, and good separation from the background. This antique now looks almost new. |
