Transpac® Multi Kit Case

The Photoflex® Transpac® line of equipment cases includes eight high-quality, durable cases that are undoubtedly the best on the market. These Product Spotlight lessons will give you an up-close and personal view of the cases, explain the uses of the case, and highlight key features that stand out from the competition.

The unique clamshell double-tiered design of the MultiKit Case affords two cases in one; a versatile rolling case with almost double the storage capacity of our Dual Kit Case. The Transpac® Multi Kit Case is the perfect choice for transporting a large amount of equipment. This case can carry the equivalent of 3-4 kits plus accessories.

In developing our new lighter weight Transpac®, we made sure that we combined a rugged exterior with a protective interior—offering you durability and safety in one piece. With adjustable polymer reinforced Velcro® compartments, you can customize this case for whatever gear you may be carrying.

The external dimensions of this case are 48.75" x 13.5" x 14.5" (123.8 x 34.3 x 36.8cm). Unloaded the bag weighs 23.4 lbs (10.6 kg).

    Exterior Features

The Transpac® exterior is constructed with a protective ¼” foam sandwiched around a corrugated polymer exoskeleton, with molded reinforced corners and sliders on the bottom of the case. [figure 1]

The outer shell of the Transpac® cases is covered with 600-denier proprietary DuraCloth™ fabric. [figure 2] This fabric is designed to be long lasting and resistant to abrasions, tears and scuffs and is commonly used in hiking backpacks, motorcycle clothing, and military items. The fabric has a moisture barrier and is water-resistant--a valuable feature when on location!

Underneath the DuraCloth, the Transpac® features a rigid wall of lightweight corrugated polymer for extra protection for your valuable equipment. Extensive Quality Control procedures during manufacturing guarantee that our Transpac® cases are the perfect case to entrust with your valuable equipment. [figure 3]

    Figure 4

The Photoflex® Transpac® MultiKit Case features double-stitched taped seams, the security you want when packing away your valuable equipment, as well as seam tape to protect the stitching. We use military grade thread and seam tape for durability and aesthetic. [figure 4]

    Figure 5

The corners and rails are made of high-impact, lightweight polymer, which helps absorb shock and extend its life. This detail is yet another way that Photoflex® has gone above and beyond in the quest to provide a case that will protect your equipment. The case’s polymer feet allow it to easily stand vertically for stable upright storage. [figures 5, 6, & 7]

    Figure 8

The Transpac® MultiKit Case exterior features bolt and locking nut through-wall hardware assembly. All hardware is bolted through the exoskeleton, which provides greater structural integrity and positive locking to the interior walls. Traditional pop rivet designs are not as secure and offer no option for easy repair like our unique bolted designs. [figure 8]

    Figure 9

The case offers three modes of transport: wheeled, carried or tandem lifting. The case’s handles are ergonomic polymer located on each end of the case for the ultimate in control for rolling the bag or two-person lifting for heavier loads. [figure 9 & 10]

The straps are bolted to the case. The two straps can be joined together with Velcro® on the quilted padded grip handle. The combination of strap handles reinforced with bar tack stitching and bolted straps creates the strongest design available. These have military grade webbing with extreme reinforcement where it counts. The straps are actually one single piece woven between the interior and exterior to ensure a secure and robust design. [figure 11]

The Transpac® MultiKit Case’s wheels are made with ball-bearing inline skate wheels in a non-scuff, clear urethane finish. The wheels ride smoothly and quietly over most surfaces. The wheels have a wide profile and are positioned wide on the bag for stability and easy maneuvering. When you’re in a hurry, the last thing you want is a wobbly case. [figures 12 & 13]

Additionally, the bag features an ID tag where you can insert contact information to use when traveling. [figure 14]

The Multi Kit Case is designed with over-sized #10 coil zippers that are self-repairing and rugged enough to take a lot of punishment on location. The zippers feature red, high-visibility pull-tabs. These will not fail like traditional tooth designed zippers. [figures 15 & 16]

    Interior Features

Upon opening the Transpac® MultiKit Case, you’ll immediately notice the red interior. This is a recent improvement Photoflex® has made to this case—based on customer feedback. The majority of studio equipment happens to be black, so by changing our black interiors to red, our case interiors now offer better contrast against your equipment and better visibility in low-light situations when you are digging for the right piece of equipment. [figure 17]

Its exclusive cushioned transitional flap on one side allows for individual access to compartments or total access. The flap has webbed see-through pockets for ease in finding your accessories. The cushioned polymer-reinforced flaps serve to protect your valuable equipment, while affording convenient access.

Twenty years of camera bag & equipment case experience has taught us that the dividers need a soft surface against your equipment ensuring optimum protection, yet also need to be adjustable for customization.

The Transpac® MultiKit Case has eleven adjustable polymer reinforced Velcro dividers. We use a sandwich of flat polymer sheet and ¼” closed cell foam, covered with fleece. [figures 18 & 19]

Two are approximately 21" long, eight are about 5" long and one, the center divider, is 10" long. The center divider is reinforced with extra heavy-duty polymer to give the interior endoskeleton of the case the structural integrity necessary to protect your gear. This gives you the ability to adjust your bag to specifically fit your gear in a variety of configurations. Because of the larger size of this case, we designed a thicker padded endoskeleton for maximum shock resistance. Whether you're carrying hot lights and soft boxes onto location or strobes and umbrellas this is the ideal case for you. [figures 20 & 21]

The dividers on the transitional side are removable enabling you to carry a variety of different-sized equipment. The extra zipper on the transitional flap allows total access to the configuration. The side for your stands, tripods or other large, long and miscellaneous items has built-in straps to secure your gear. [figures 23 and 24]
