    Exterior Features

The Transpac® exterior is constructed with a protective ¼” foam sandwiched around a corrugated polymer exoskeleton, with molded reinforced corners and sliders on the bottom of the case. [figure 1]

The outer shell of the Transpac® cases is covered with 600-denier proprietary DuraCloth™ fabric. [figure 2] This fabric is designed to be long lasting and resistant to abrasions, tears and scuffs and is commonly used in hiking backpacks, motorcycle clothing, and military items. The fabric has a moisture barrier and is water-resistant--a valuable feature when on location!

Underneath the DuraCloth, the Transpac® features a rigid wall of lightweight corrugated polymer for extra protection for your valuable equipment. Extensive Quality Control procedures during manufacturing guarantee that our Transpac® cases are the perfect case to entrust with your valuable equipment. [figure 3]

    Figure 4

The Photoflex Transpac® Single Kit Case features double-stitched taped seams, the security you want when packing away your valuable equipment, as well as seam tape to protect the stitching. We use military grade thread and seam tape for durability and streamlined aesthetics. [figure 4]

The corners and rails are made of high-impact, lightweight polymer, which helps absorb shock and extend its life. This detail is yet another way that Photoflex has gone above and beyond in the quest to provide a case that will protect your equipment. The case’s polymer feet allow it to easily stand vertically for stable upright storage. [figures 5, 6, & 7]

    Figure 8

The Transpac® Single Kit Case exterior features bolt and locking nut through-wall hardware assembly. All hardware is bolted through the exoskeleton, which provides greater structural integrity and positive locking to the interior walls. Traditional pop rivet designs are not as secure and offer no option for easy repair like our unique bolted designs. [figure 8]

The case offers three modes of transport: wheeled, carried or tandem lifting. The case’s handles are ergonomic polymer located on each end of the case for the ultimate in control for rolling the bag or two-person lifting for heavier loads. [figure 9 & 10]

The straps are bolted to the case. The two straps can be joined together with Velcro on the quilted padded grip handle. The combination of strap handles reinforced with bar tack stitching and bolted straps creates the strongest design available. These have military grade webbing with extreme reinforcement where it counts. [figure 11]

The Transpac® Single Kit Case’s wheels are made with ball-bearing inline skate wheels in a non-scuff, clear urethane finish. The wheels ride smoothly and quietly over most surfaces. The wheels have a wide profile and are positioned wide on the bag for stability and easy maneuvering. When you’re in a hurry, the last thing you want is a wobbly case. [figures 12 & 13]

Additionally, the bag features an ID tag where you can insert contact information to use when traveling. [figure 14]

The Single Kit Case has over-sized #10 coil zippers that are self-repairing and rugged enough to take a lot of punishment on location. The zippers feature red, high-visibility pull-tabs. These will not fail like traditional tooth designed zippers. [figures 15 & 16]

    Interior Features

Upon opening the Transpac® Single Kit Case, you’ll immediately notice the red interior. This is a recent improvement Photoflex has made to this case—based on customer feedback. The majority of studio equipment happens to be black, so by changing our black interiors to red, our case interiors now offer better contrast against your equipment and better visibility in low-light situations when you are digging for the right piece of equipment. [figure 17]

Twenty years of camera bag and equipment case experience has taught us that the dividers need a soft surface against your equipment ensuring optimum protection, yet also need to be adjustable for customization.

The Transpac® Single Kit Case has six adjustable polymer reinforced Velcro dividers. We use a sandwich of flat polymer sheet and ¼” closed cell foam, covered with fleece. [figures 18 & 19]

One is approximately 33" long and four are about 5" in length. This gives you the ability to adjust your bag to specifically fit your gear in a variety of configurations. Whether you're carrying hot lights and soft boxes onto location or strobes and umbrellas this is the ideal case for you. [figures 20 & 21]

The case also includes a padded soft box or umbrella quiver on the inside of the top, allowing for extra protection for gear and efficient use of space. [figure 22]

    Example Packing Configurations

Using the adjustable Velcro dividers, we packed our Transpac® Single Kit Case twice with two different sets of gear to demonstrate its versatility. We set out 2 - 650w monobloc strobes, 2 - 6" reflectors, 2 - power cords, 2 - swivel mounts, 2 - 45" silver umbrellas, 2 - light stands, and 1 - tripod. [figure 23]

    Figure 24

First, we placed our umbrellas in the pocket on the inside top of the Transpac®. Then, we placed our remaining equipment into the main compartment of the bag. With a few minor adjustments of our Velcro dividers we fit everything into our bag with ease. [figure 24]

Our second pack list included 2 - Starlites, 2 - 1000w lamps, 2 - swivel mounts, 2 - soft box connectors, 2 - small soft boxes, 2 - light stands, 2 - cords, and 1 – tripod. We placed them into our Transpac® Single Kit Case, once again, repositioning the Velcro dividers for a custom fit around our equipment. [figure 25 & 26]

The combination of the exoskeleton and the interior padded corrugated divider system utilizing Velcro for maximum interior flexibility, creates an amazingly sturdy enclosure for transporting your valuable equipment. All of these features at a cost of generally 1/3 of our competitors’ cases.
